Before digital marketing became the center of my work, teaching photography and visual arts shaped how I learned to communicate: make ideas accessible, understand the audience in front of you, and create space for authentic stories to emerge.
I began teaching in the nonprofit space in 2013 as the lead local teaching artist for the Pablove Foundation’s New York chapter. In 2015, I joined ArtWorks: The Naomi Cohain Foundation as an artist in residence, leading photography workshops with young people affected by serious illness.
Later that year, I began working with Magic Box Productions, bringing arts and technology-based instruction into New York City schools and cultural settings. Across that work, I taught in public schools, hospitals, museums and nonprofit programs, including experiences connected with the Museum of Modern Art, the New-York Historical Society and the International Center of Photography.
A conversation about teaching photography to children living with cancer, the confidence that can grow through image-making and what students taught me about fearlessness and creativity.
Developed and led healing-arts photography programming for children affected by cancer in hospitals throughout the New York metropolitan area. The work combined technical photography instruction with creative expression, giving participants a structured way to explore their own point of view.
Served as lead teaching artist for the New York City chapter, guiding recurring five-week photography programs for children and teens affected by cancer. Students learned camera fundamentals, composition and visual storytelling while building confidence in their own creative voice.
Worked as a professional artist-educator with schools and cultural organizations throughout the New York metropolitan area, using photography, media and technology to deepen understanding and help students create original work.
